In addition to the foregoing, we liaise with various government bodies such as the Reserve Bank of India and the Foreign Investment Promotion Board to obtain the necessary clearances.

Mergers & Acquisitions

Majmudar & Co. advises clients on all aspects of merger and acquisitions (“M&A”).  Amalgamations of large corporations are effected through the Companies Act, 1956, where court sanction is required.  Other types of M&A transactions, include asset purchase deals, share purchase deals, takeovers of listed companies under the Securities & Exchange Board of India's Takeover Regulations, and management buyout transactions. 

On M&A deals, we work closely with merchant bankers, accountants and other professionals.

General Corporate Work

Majmudar & Co. regularly assists clients in corporate and commercial disputes involving breaches of shareholders’ rights or directors’ duties, as well as liquidation of companies.  We also assist companies in administration.  Partners of the firm often serve as directors and alternate directors on the Boards of companies.
